 How are Bananas come to marcket

Before packing bananas spend 20-30 minutes in a pool of water to stop the latex from emission from fresh fruit slices on the crown.

Banana "tree" brings only one harvest in their lives.

During harvest time, or properly speaking, a "cutting", bananas are laid with a special sponge so that they are not damaged during transportation to the packing station.

Machete is the tool, it is used in nearly every home in Costa Rica.

Fruit on plantations are so heavy that they are secured with plastic tape from falling.



Bananas cutting is a hard physical labor.

Of all the bananas, which got to the packaging station, only 5-6% do not pass the control. Unsuitable for the export fruit is sold in the local market.



Selection of fruit (in fact the division into clusters) is performed mainly by women. 



Banana production is not just a process, it's history, a culture from which more than one generation in many countries in Latin America grew.
